"Jews continue to be accused of blood libel, dual loyalty, and undue influence on government policy and the media, and the symbols and images associated with age-old forms of anti-Semitism endure."

New forms of anti-Semitism are reflected in rhetoric that compares Israel to the Nazis and attributes "Israel's perceived faults to its Jewish character."

Y'know, this really getting old.  I promise that I have no undue influence over the government.  If I did this shit would not be happening!
Happy Shavu'ot, to all my Jewish friends!

We've been discussing this holiday a little on another LJ, and it's made me realize how much I enjoyed going to temple when I was young.  It was fun to walk to Shul with my family, and to see a bunch of people all dressed up for the holiday (whichever one it was at the time).  I really enjoyed the music and the ritual...and the food.  ;)

Now when I think back on it, I don't know if I am associating the idea of Judaism with the idea of childhood.  Is that why I hold those memories of going to temple so dear?  I never had much of a religious feeling while I was there, it was more of a cool learning experience (especially the part about leaning another language!).  I enjoyed temple the way I enjoyed school.  When I think back nostalgically about Shul, maybe it's just a yearning for my childhood that I feel.  I still don't have much of a feeling about God, but I can really get behind celebrating the holidays.

I think I just miss being a kid.

Happy Passover! I am curious about how many of my friends celebrate Passover, so I have made a poll. (my first!)

Happy Channukah!
Yes, I know this is 2 months old, but it's totally worth the read.  I'm posting it here so that I can refer to the argument when necessary.
