In the wake of Frances, a lot of people have been asking about our relatives in Florida.  From what I have heard everyone is ok.  There are trees and branches down, as well as a few power lines, so folks are still staying in their homes.  My Mom lost power for about 24 hours, which was no fun, but she and my brother are fine.  Ang's family sounds like they made it through without any trouble as well.

So thanks for the good thoughts and well-wishes.  Now we just have to get through Ivan.  Needless to say, the shutters are staying up.
I did some more work on Meriel over the long weekend.  Her latest photos can be seen at the "In Progress" Gallery.

This is my first real attempt at cream colored clothing, and the shading and highlighting has been a bear.  I found a pretty good reference for the color scheme on a Michael Parks print that we have in our guestroom called Gargoyles.  If you take a close look at the girl's nightgown (and I actually stood on our futon and looked from about 2 inches away), you can see that the shading has a bit of olive in it.  That is the shading that I am attempting with Meriel, only not quite as dark.  I hope it turns out when I am finished.
