AI with Intuit
Mar. 7th, 2005 09:32 amI ordered TurboTax (as usual) online from Intuit on February 16th, and have not yet received the software. Concerned for the lateness of my order, I decided to contact Intuit this morning and ask about the status. Instead of calling them, I used their Messenger Service:

This was my first real interaction with an AI program. I suspected from the first comment, but it was clear to me from Alice's third comment that she was an AI. I found this amusing (especially since the description indicates that it will be a person talking to you), and I found myself talking to Alice as if to a young child. I wanted Alice to succeed, because she was an AI. I felt a little like Dr. Chandra talking to SAL. ;)
What is TurboTax Messenger? Type in your question or request — a person will assist you right away. It's that easy! There is usually less waiting than with a standard phone call.
