Part of getting and staying healthy is doing my best to manage how I respond to day to day situations.  Trying to maintain a positive attitude in the face of chronic pain, or emotional distress really does help.  It doesn't eliminate the problem, but it does keep the lows from being so low, and lets me enjoy the highs more often.
