Blathering

Finished up a wizard mini this weekend, and started three more. :) The wizard has a staff with an orb at the top, so I did a little gem-work to get back into practice. There's a really simple way of making gems stand out in your minis, and I get a kick out of doing it, even if I'm the only one who ever notices. (sometimes the detail is just too small for the casual observer)

It looks like the throat infection that I whinged about last week was not getting better, as I had previously thought. I'll be seeing my doctor in a few hours. :(

Apparently I like the new Planet of the Apes movie a lot more upon a second viewing. I recall being very annoyed when seeing it in the theater (although I can't recall why), but when I watched a bit of it last night on the telly, I was pleased and amused. Mostly I really like the makeup. Sue me.

I'm also quite enthusiastic about the direction of the latest collaborative Potter fiction game in which I am participating. I haven't been feeling all that well lately, and I think my writing has suffered because of it, but the plot is looking juicy and complicated, which bodes well for the future.
