Unexpected Music!

Last night we arrived home from Lager Rhythms rehearsal to find an unexpected surprise in the mailbox.
follybard had sent us a Bjork CD (Post). I've been listening to it here at work and...wow! This is really good in a totally surprising way. I had never actually listened to any Bjork, although I knew that several of my friends really liked her music. I didn't expect there to be such a wide range of expression and style. Cool!
Thanks,
follybard!!!

Date: 2007-07-20 07:43 pm (UTC)I love all her albums. They vary stylistically from one to the next -- Debut is somewhat dance-oriented, Post is a bit pop, Homogenic is string-oriented, and so forth -- but they've all got an intricacy that rewards repeated listenings, I think. The arrangements are frequently really interesting, and her vocal delivery just blows me away, still.
(Plus, her songs are really, really fun to sing in the car.)
