The gadget search continues

Ordered the Canon SD1000 Elph yesterday.  It's cheaper than the 750, and it has a viewfinder.  I'm sure it will do for what I need.

Phone is still up in the air.

What do you guys think about the Zune?  I would want the smaller 4GB or 8GB flash unit.  Any pros or cons that you have heard?



ETA: Decided on the Cowon iAUDIO7 - 8GB

Everything I've heard about the Zune is bad. Don't know how much they've fixed since the original runout.

Exactly what he said. Is there a reason you don't want to get an iPod? Seriously, they are the best for a reason.

From what I've read, iPod hasn't really been working on their sound quality. I haven't seen anything nasty about the Zune's sound, other than their taking away the equalizer in this generation (which may be a deal breaker).

I'm also looking at the Cowon iAudio7, which is supposed to have fabulous sound.

That doesn't match my experience. I've had GREAT sound quality on both of mine. And, of course, part of your sound quality will be determined by the headphones you use, and not just the device itself.

So, just putting out there that iPods are fabulous, and I highly recommend them as MP3 devices. :)

Thanks. I have several friends with iPods, although not the new nano, so I've at least heard them. They're not bad, but there's a lot of work being put into the video aspect of the player, and that's not what I'll be doing the vast majority of the time.

I think I've decided on the Cowon. :)
