I love my house.  No, really.  I LOVE my house.

This is our first house, and we've been in it for almost two years now.  Considering that we've been married for 14 years, you'll understand that we waited until we could afford a house that we loved.  It's a great house.

Is that enough?  Can I complain now?  ;)

Now I understand )

Much work to be done.
I've been reading some friends' opinions about the proposed smoking ban for Houston businesses.

I have to say I am really not as accommodating as the folks I am reading.  I hate cigarette smoke.  I am a militant non-smoker.  I don't want anyone smoking within 100 feet of me.  My blood pressure goes up 10 points when I see people smoking around children.

Normally I am a lot more laid back about personal freedoms.  I believe you should be able to do what you want to your own body, or in the privacy of your own home.  Go ahead, smoke yourself silly!  Have sex with cheese!  But if you can't keep your activity from physically irritating other people, then you should not pursue this activity in public.

Perhaps we should rally for spitting sections in restaurants.  Spitting is a valid habit too!  Oh, did I accidentally hit you with my spit?  Well, sorry, but I have just as much right to be here as you.  Perhaps you should go to a restaurant where they don't allow spitting.

Have I become a fascist?  Or am I just a selfish bitch?  Either way, get your damned cigarettes out of my face.
