Who's the man? I'M the man, baby!
Aug. 17th, 2004 05:24 pmYesterday I was home with a migraine. (Awww, poor you!) Thanks.
Around 6:30pm, the house alarm starts to beep, so I take a look, and the "trouble" light is on.
Oh, no! I'm in trouble!
Not to mention, this damned beeping is not helping my head at all. So, I call the alarm service and, after a bit of pushing, get them to have a service person call me back. Amazingly enough, after about 45 minutes, a service person calls me back. We go through a few diagnostics over the phone, and he determines that it is very likely the battery. He can either come in some time this week and replace it, or I can get a replacement at Radio Shack. I thank him and hang up.
Meanwhile, the beeping. The ever loving beeping!
I Google for Radio Shack, call them and ask (1) what time they close, and (2) if they have this battery in stock. They do, and I have 15 minutes to get there. Luckily, I have a Miata (zoom ZOOM zoom).
I have fixed the home alarm system. No more beeping. Behold my handiness!
