[livejournal.com profile] schroedingerbat came over Saturday for our second painting party, and I was determined to complete the last two figs I had sitting around partially painted from when I stopped painting (five?) years ago. The figs that have been hanging over my head for so long are a Rakshasa and an Ogre Mage with a Kappa familiar - and now they are DONE! (will add links to pics when I get a chance to photograph the figs).

I also really wanted to get a couple of book-imps painted for [livejournal.com profile] krosehart to choose from on Friday when we resume our current face to face game. Her wizard, Minx, has just gotten a book-imp familiar and [livejournal.com profile] schroedingerbat found four of them to choose from. We chose two out of the four that we liked best, and I painted them with two different color schemes for [livejournal.com profile] krosehart to choose between. Each of the imps has an open book with them, and I was able to paint them as though they had an initial illuminated letter in "gold leaf" at the beginning of each page. After some pondering, I used her initials, one on each page, as the illuminated letters. I hope she likes at least one of them!

Either way, I feel accomplished!!

I can assemble a fig photo studio fairly readily, if you like.

I just finished painting a big wyvern fig that I started yesterday (off the momentum of our recent painting party).

I think it turned out pretty well, given my typical efforts on bigger figures. I'll be sure to bring it Friday for show and tell.

Full marks for folks who are still (or again) painting!

I'm still proud of a kitbashed Rakshasa that I used on a party several years back, that I told the players was WYSIWYG and let them go from there. It was a plastic mini built from GW Mordheim Imperials, unremarkable except for the tigerskin cloak and the fact that I'd carefully switched the hands to the opposite arms.
